Japanese Planning to Deploy 1,050 Troops to the Senkaku Islands

The Japanese government is planning to deploy 1,050 troops in the Senkaku Islands to have its military presence in the area. The three islands disputed by Japan, China and Taiwan. The Japanese named it Diaoyutai, the Chinese named it as Diaoyu, but the Taiwanese named it as the Senkakus. Eventhough, the chain of islands are uninhabited they still continue to gain control because of its strategic purposes. China had established its military presence in the area by placing an oil rig in water. A lack of military forces in the Senkaku Islands has the Japanese government alarmed that the Chinese will create an incident to occupy the area if the Japanese fail to take action.

Teritorial disputes are very common nowadays most especially to archipelagic countries like China, Philippines, Japan, Malaysia and many others. Countries which do not have colonies like China they wanted to gain control over the islands or teritories near to them not because they wanted to live in their but because of its strategic purposes. Teritorial conflicts should be resolved and managed peacefully because it could trigger and lit another world war. The UNCLOS or the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Seas is the main basis for resolving teritorial conflicts. Hoping that countries involved should also paved the way for peace talks and agreements with other countries concerned.
